US indices turn mixed, Mid-term elections on focus

US equities displayed a bifurcated performance on Tuesday, as advances in semiconductor shares propelled the S&P 500 to break a three-day downturn, while a decrease in Apple’s valuation pressured the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Market participants are in anticipation of midterm election outcomes that will dictate control of Congress. The Nasdaq composite advanced 207.65 points, equating to a 0.83% increase, to reach 25,372.01. The S&P 500 index registered a rise of 27.52 points, a 0.36% gain, to 7,568.92. The Dow Jones industrial average retreated 197.26 points, a 0.38% decline, to 51,786.72. Global risk sentiment was constrained as European markets receded while treasury yields exhibited an upward trajectory.
