The key equity barometers traded with slight gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23122-23030. Nifty Realty, Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Metal shares gained, while Nifty Healthcare Index and Nifty Pharma shares fell.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, up 56.63 points to 73,637.17. The Nifty 50 index up 7.30 points to 23,070.40.

The broader market failed to keep pace with frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index lost 0.46% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index edged lower by 0.33%.

The market breadth was fragile. On the BSE, 2119 shares advanced and 2477 shares declined. A total of 257 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Realty index inched up 0.45% to 865. The index has declined 6.07% in last one month and moved lower by 3.28% over last one year. A B Real Estate, edging up 1.13%, led the gainers followed by Oberoi Realty, up 1.03% and DLF, gaining 0.82%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 6 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Consumer Durables index moved higher by 0.43% to 38079. The index has fallen 6.27% in last one month and edged lower by 1.85% over last one year. Whirlpool India, climbing 8.32%, led the gainers followed by Dixon Technolog., adding 1.45% and LG Electronics, inching higher 1.30%, respectively. Out of 13 index constituents, 8 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Healthcare Index index posted modest losses of 0.65%. The index has risen slightly by 2.07% in last one month and soared 15.05% over last one year. Fortis Health., easing 2.90%, led the losers followed by Glenmark Pharma., down 2.53% and Laurus Labs, edging lower 2.12%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 15 are reporting loss today.

Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 9 are in green today. Nifty Realty index has recorded steep losses of 6.07% in last one month and is marginally lower by 3.28% over last year. Nifty Healthcare Index index has recorded robust gains of 2.07% in last one month and has registered sharp gains of 15.05% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric AND Suzlon Energy are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 1045.82 lakh shares, 2775.99 lakh shares and 836.54 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets retreated on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is firmly lower by 1.22%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is sharply lower by 1.64%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is substantially higher by 1.29%.

NIFTY50 Sep-26 futures are in discount of 34.60 points today.
