Nifty October futures trade at a discount

The Nifty October 2026 futures was at 22,589 , a discount of 11.00 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 22,600 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index inched down 87.65 points or 0.39% to settle at 22,600.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, advanced 6.96% at 16.86

On the options front, maximum call open interest (OI) of 3.07 lakh contracts was seen at the 24000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 2.09 lakh contracts was seen at 21500 strike price.

HDFC Bank Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd and Reliance Industries Ltd and were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

HDFC Bank Ltd November 2026 futures closed at 696.0 , compared with spot closing price of 692.8.

HDFC Bank Ltd October 2026 futures closed at 692.2 , compared with spot closing price of 692.8.

Reliance Industries Ltd November 2026 futures closed at 692.8 , compared with spot closing price of 1190.0.

The October 2026 F&O contracts expires on 27 October 2026.
