China stocks end flat, US-China talks anticipated

Chinese equities demonstrated limited directional movement on Tuesday, as investors monitored developments in US-China trade negotiations. The Shanghai Composite finished near 3,952.1, as the Shenzhen Component retreated to approximately 13,723.7. Negotiators from both nations maintained dialogues concerning artificial intelligence, investment, and trade in anticipation of the Trump-Xi summit slated for September 23–25.

Market participants are monitoring the potential for an extension of the existing trade détente, presently scheduled to conclude in November. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer indicated that a consensus has not been achieved, although Washington may endorse a prolongation of three to six months.

PetroChina demonstrated resilience, advancing 1.12%, while China Shenhua Energy registered a gain of 1.52%, and Hygon Information Technology ascended 3.88%. Conversely, Zhongji Innolight retreated 1.41% and Suzhou TFC Optical Communication decreased 1.22%.
