Interglobe Aviation Ltd
Indigo rallies as Q2 loss narrows to Rs 1,879 crore
Oct 30,2026
Revenue from operations increased 25.91% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 23,363.8 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2026, supported by disciplined capacity deployment and yield management.

The company's pre-tax loss narrowed to Rs 1,879.1 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 2,481.7 crore in Q2 FY26.

EBITDAR (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortisation and rent) surged 120.76% YoY to Rs 2,459.9 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 1,114.3 crore in the year-ago quarter. Consequently, the EBITDAR margin improved to 10.5% from 6% during the same period.

However, EBITDAR excluding foreign exchange (forex) impact stood at Rs 3,615.3 crore, with a margin of 15.5%, compared with Rs 3,800.3 crore and a margin of 20.5% in Q2 FY26, respectively.

On the operational front, available seat kilometres (ASK) declined 1% YoY to 40.8 billion in Q2 FY27 from 41.2 billion in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) fell 3.7% to 32.8 billion from 34 billion.

The airline carried 27.5 million passengers during the quarter, registering a decline of 4.7% compared with 28.8 million passengers in Q2 FY26.

As of 30 September 2026, IndiGo reported a total cash balance of Rs 52,685.4 crore, comprising free cash of Rs 39,929 crore and restricted cash of Rs 12,756.4 crore.

Willie Walsh, CEO, said, “The seasonally soft September quarter saw exceptionally elevated fuel costs and continued geopolitical turmoil. We responded with prudent capacity reduction and yield management, supporting strong revenue performance but only partially offsetting the higher costs. Despite these actions, the quarter resulted in a net loss of around 19 billion rupees.

We remain focused on managing the near-term challenges while continuing to invest for the future. India’s long-term aviation opportunity remains compelling, and our priorities remain clear: safe and reliable operations, rigorous cost discipline, and disciplined growth that creates sustainable value.”
